European Safety Week Recap: Spreading the Word on Lifting Safety Across Ireland
Last week was European safety week. In the spirit of safety our very own expert, Joe Callaghan, hit the road to visit sites all across Ireland meeting with members of the industry and sharing essential knowledge about the safe use of lifting equipment. Each stop showcased our commitment to workplace safety, providing hands-on training, live demonstrations, and engaging talks designed to make heavy lifting safer and smarter.
Killaloe
Joe kicked off Safety Week in Killaloe with training regarding the use of the Prolec Safety System. In front of an attentive team, Joe guided the group through the intricacies of using this system to ensure precision and safety in lifting operations. It was great to see everyone taking such a keen interest in the tools designed to make heavy work that much safer and more efficient. Questions from the group brought a lively energy, showing just how important understanding and proper training is when it comes to managing such powerful equipment.
Cahir
Next, we headed to the scenic heights of a wind farm in Cahir, where safety and inspection training took centre stage. Joe focused on the essential safety protocols for everyday use lifting equipment. From chain hoists to slings and shackles, each piece of equipment was examined, and every scenario covered. Safety is especially crucial in environments like wind farms, where challenging conditions add another layer of complexity, so we were thrilled to see such dedication from the team at Cahir.
Midleton
In Midleton, the focus remained on inspection and safety training, reinforcing the essentials that every worker needs to master to keep lifting operations secure. Joe’s training went over each part of the process, with hands-on practice and detailed explanations.
PM Group
We wrapped up the week with a visit to PM Group, where Joe once again delivered a talk on the safe use of lifting equipment & Damien Finnegan conducted a live demonstration of the Ganterud Auto Levelling Yoke. This innovative tool makes load levelling seamless, enhancing safety by reducing manual intervention. A product that encompasses the spirit of safety week.
